I have competed in obstacle course races all over the country from the west coast in California to the east coast in New Jersey. I have competed in four world championships in this sport:
- World’s Toughest Mudder 2013
- Warrior Dash World Championship 2014
- Battlefrog Championship 2015
- OCR World Championship 2016
The most recent world championship race was the OCR World Championship in 2016. This was my first international race and it was held in Canada. I have also competed in numerous adventure races, running races, duathlons, and triathlons all over the Gulf Coast. I completed a Half Ironman in New Orleans, Louisiana and a Full Ironman in Louisville, Kentucky in 2014. Obstacle course racing is my passion and I have competed in all of the major “brands” of obstacle course racing such as:
- Savage Race
- Spartan Race
- Tough Mudder
- Warrior Dash
- Rugged Maniac
- Battlefrog Extreme
- Go Ruck Challenge
With all that said, I was extremely impressed with the organization of the entire event last year. Four of my children did the children’s race at the Barbarian Challenge and had an absolute blast. Racing all over the country, it is always a better experience when my children have an area to let loose and have some fun. The Barbarian Challenge’s kid area was head and shoulders above most races I’ve been to. The course was well marked and the obstacles were right on par with the best of the best. The terrain up there is amazing and beautiful. While there, we stayed at the campground at Noccalula Falls. We hiked the trails and down to the falls. We had an overall amazing experience at this event and are excited to return in a few months.
God has blessed my wife, Jennifer, and I with seven children. Their ages are 9, 7, 6, 5, 1, and 2 days old. We also have one in heaven that we lost due to a miscarriage. We are from Theodore, Alabama. I am a 10 year veteran of the Mobile Police Department. I am assigned to the full time SWAT Team. I will be competing in the OCR World Enduro Championships in Australia in June of 2018. In fact, I will be getting back to the United States just days before the Barbarian Challenge 2018. Right now, I am trying to hopefully get my sponsorships together to be able to compete in this elite competition.
